From entry-level to executive management
Matthias, 30 years at Baudisch Electronic—what does that mean to you?
Above all, how much the company has grown during this time. I’ve seen Baudisch Electronic go through very different phases and have been directly involved in many of the changes. What has always been particularly meaningful to me is the opportunity to take on responsibility and actively help shape the company’s development.
Your career began as an electronics technician and later led you through the role of production manager all the way to the executive board. What was the key factor in that journey?
The key factor was that I was able to grow step by step within the company—both professionally and personally. With each new assignment came greater responsibility and new perspectives. This trust and the opportunity to make a real difference have had a profound impact on my career path.

Milestones that have shaped the company
Which stops do you remember most clearly?
An important phase of my career was my time as production manager. In that role, I played a key role in acquiring our machinery, as well as in planning and executing the move to our new facilities in 2015. That was a significant step for the company and, at the same time, a very intense period.
Equally significant was the expansion of our machinery fleet with the introduction of the SMD line in 2018. Such investments are crucial for setting the course for the future, as they directly drive the company’s technological advancement.
How has Baudisch Electronic developed over this period?
Our strength lies in the fact that we combine development, manufacturing, and an EMC laboratory under one roof. This allows us to respond flexibly to requirements and provide comprehensive support for projects—from concept to series production. At the same time, we have grown as a company and now employ more than 60 people at our location.
Challenges and the Future of Electronics Manufacturing
What do you think the future holds for Baudisch Electronic?
I continue to see us as an innovative and strong EMS service provider. Issues such as automation, digitalization, and modern manufacturing processes will continue to grow in importance. Our goal is to consistently advance our technological capabilities while maintaining our high standards of quality and flexibility.
What challenges is the industry currently facing?
Cost pressures are high, while demands for quality, flexibility, and delivery reliability are on the rise. Added to this is the shortage of skilled workers. We address these challenges with efficient processes, investments in technology, and a clear commitment to continuous improvement.

What still motivates you after 30 years?
What motivates me is growth—both for the company and for the people who work here. It’s exciting to see how Baudisch Electronic has evolved and how we can shape the next steps together.
What are you most proud of?
To what we’ve achieved together. When you’re able to contribute to such pivotal developments over many years and see how a company evolves, it’s something special.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the entire team and the owners for their trust and support over the years. Without this support, I would not have been able to come this far.
