50th EMC Expert Forum in Stuttgart at Würth Elektronik eiSos

A special anniversary, current industry topics, and plenty of opportunity for personal interaction: About 50 experts gathered at Würth Elektronik eiSos for the 50th EMV Expert Forum in Stuttgart.

The focus was on current developments, technical challenges, and regulatory changes in the fields of electromagnetic compatibility, wireless communications, industry, and the automotive sector.

A platform for professional exchange

The Stuttgart EMC Expert Forum brings together professionals from the fields of development, testing, consulting, and industry. The meetings are held primarily online. Twice a year, the community meets in person: once at the offices of one of the organizers, Baudisch Electronic or Würth Elektronik eiSos, and once at the office of a participating EMC expert.

The 50th meeting at Würth Elektronik was therefore not only a cause for celebration, but also an opportunity to discuss current issues right on site.

Current Technical Topics from Industry and the Automotive Sector

After a relaxed get-together, the organizing team opened the event and introduced the speakers and the day’s program. Two parallel technical sessions then began.

Inti Stölben examined electromagnetic compatibility during the charging of electric vehicles from a systemic perspective. The focus was on the interaction between the charging infrastructure, the vehicle, power electronics, and communication.

At the same time, Michael Bürger explained the most important changes associated with the transition to the new Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230. He focused in particular on the implications for manufacturers and companies, as well as on practical preparations for the new requirements.

After the lunch break, Thomas Zitzelsberger provided an overview of current developments in the fields of EMC and wireless technology. His presentation linked industrial applications with issues in the automotive sector and offered practical insights for the participants.

Discussion Beyond the Presentations

During the networking session and barbecue that followed, the day’s topics were explored in greater depth. In a relaxed atmosphere, new connections were made, interesting conversations took place, and opportunities for future projects emerged.

The 50th EMC Expert Forum once again demonstrated how valuable regular exchanges within the EMC community are.

Many thanks to all the participating experts, the speakers, the organizing team, and Würth Elektronik eiSos for their hospitality and for making this a successful event.

We’re looking forward to the next EMV Expert Forum in Stuttgart!
