On November 29, 2024, a special in-person meeting took place at the premises of Würth Elektronik eiSos GmbH & Co. KG in Waldenburg. This event was exclusively designed for members of the EMC Expert Forum, a closed group founded in 2021 by Würth Elektronik and Baudisch Electronic. The goal of the forum is to foster an intensive exchange on the challenges and solutions in the field of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

After an introductory welcome, the program began with exciting technical presentations. The first focus addressed the specific EMC challenges at interfaces in the automotive and industrial sectors. A subsequent networking break gave participants the opportunity to discuss the presented approaches and build new contacts.

Another presentation was dedicated to Gigabit Ethernet circuit design, considering Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and EMC aspects. Practical solutions were presented that could be directly incorporated into ongoing projects.

After a joint lunch break, the upcoming changes to the standards EN 55032 and EN 55035 took center stage. Participants gained valuable insights into the far-reaching effects of these changes, especially regarding the increased time requirements and growing demands on measurement scope in EMC laboratories and for manufacturers.

The event concluded with a relaxed exchange over cold drinks. In a casual atmosphere, members of the expert forum were able to deepen their new insights and gather valuable ideas for future projects.

This in-person meeting marked another milestone for the EMC Expert Forum, which has now established itself as an indispensable platform for knowledge transfer in the EMC world.
