EMC Expert Forum - Face-to-face meeting at IDS in Obersulm

On Friday, July 18, 2025, the EMC Expert Forum Stuttgart took place at IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH in Obersulm. The forum offers a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and networking for experts who are intensively involved in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Around 35 participants took the opportunity to discuss current EMC topics and learn about new technologies.

The event began with a warm welcome from Martin Wagenblast from the organizing team of the EMC Expert Forum and Managing Director Jan Hartmann from IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH. After the introduction, exciting presentations were given on current EMC topics. Adrian Stirn from Würth Elektronik presented his findings on “Single wire IC LEDs from an EMC perspective”, while Max Schmenger from Würth Elektronik explained the topic of “SN650X conducted interference emissions” in the automotive sector.

Another highlight was the presentation by Frederik Dostal from Analog Devices, who presented new technologies for voltage converters that enable both lower conducted and radiated EMC emissions.

A special highlight of the day was the company tour at IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH, where the participants were given an exclusive insight into the company’s production processes and innovative technologies.

The day ended with an informal exchange over cool drinks, which gave participants the opportunity to continue discussions and make new contacts.

The EMC Expert Forum is a valuable platform for anyone dealing with the challenges of electromagnetic compatibility. In regular online meetings, participants have the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and support each other. The forums are always accompanied by experienced EMC experts who present new topics and moderate the discussions.

Meetings are held twice a year, with the summer event traditionally hosted by one of the members of the EMC Expert Forum – this year at IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH. The forum is organized in close cooperation with Würth Elektronik eiSos and Baudisch Electronic, which underlines the high practical relevance of the topics and the intensive exchange between the participants.
