EMC Expert Forum: Second face-to-face meeting in Waldenburg

With the EMC Expert Forum, together with Würth Elektronik we offer a cross-company platform for the regular exchange of information on the subject of EMC. This May, we once again invited the members of the EMC Expert Forum to a personal meeting.

At the beginning of the day, two expert presentations took place in the seminar room of the Panoramahotel Waldenburg. Andreas Nadler gave a lecture on the topic “EMC debugging using a simple measurement setup and a DC LISN with two measurement channels that can be used in parallel”. Another technical lecture was given by Heinz Zenkner on the topic of “RF – Filters for Data and Signal Interfaces – Design and Effectiveness under Real Conditions”.

The event was rounded off by a visit to the headquarters of Würth Elektronik eiSos, where participants were given a tour of the logistics center and the EMC laboratory.

In addition, Josip Horvat, EMC laboratory manager at Baudisch Electronic GmbH, used various test setups to demonstrate how shielded cables can be properly connected to PE. The simulation made clear that the amplitude of coupled surge pulses is minimized by using the correct shield connection.

We would like to thank all participants for the successful day and are already looking forward to the next face-to-face meeting of the EMC Expert Forum.
